Sourced directly from beehives, Australian by Nature Leatherwood Honey has a distinct spicy flavour and has a reputation of being gourmet product. As indicative of its name, this is the honey that bees produce from the nectar of the Leatherwood (Eucryphia lucida) plants’ flower.

This honey has several vitamins including but not limited to ascorbic acid, pantothenic acid, niacin and riboflavin. It also contains chemical elements like Sodium, Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Chromium and Zinc. Honey is composed of two main sugars, fructose and dextrose. It also contains some other vitamins & minerals in limited quantities which give honey its colour, flavour and physical properties.

This Leatherwood honey has a spicy flavour and has been packaged to keep its freshness and quality. Honey has natural sugars, which are more easily absorbed by the body; thereby, making it a great alternative to sugar.

Each Jar of Leatherwood Honey 500gm contains a highly concentrated source of many essential nutrients, including large amounts of carbohydrates (sugars).

The Leatherwood plant is endemic to Tasmania and is found in the wetter forest regions throughout the Western portion of the state. Leatherwood is the single most important nectar plant in Tasmania accounting for about 70% of all honey produced.
